Yesterday we ended up (don't ask me how, I wouldn't even be able to explain) at the sandbar. Spent all day in the water, including trying stand up paddleboarding!!! It was so much fun :) And surprisingly, I'm not that sore today. Standing up your toes are trying to grip the board and your legs shake a little as you find your balance. Crouching down would seem like it would help, but it doesn't, you have to stand up all the way. At one point, we had 4 of us all on the board paddling away, somewhat making us look like a giant caterpillar. We we only able to have 3 people stand for a millisecond before we fell off. We tried to take over a pirate ship, we dueled another boat in a dance off, and eventually we did invade a giant floatie. Overall, great day, great ending to my time in Hawaii. Makes me want to a) get a paddleboard, b) get a kayak, c) make a boat like the guys yesterday and d) never live away from the ocean. I attempted to take pictures with a non-water proof camera in the water, so we'll see if they come out.

3 Week Update

So I finally have my computer working again and I am able to update on my progress. Hiked Koko Head 2 weeks ago when Kristin was in town, amazing! I don't know why it's taken me so long to do this. So many steps, but the view was well worth it. Such a clear day, Maui/Moloka'i/Lana'i visible from the top. I almost didn't want to come down.

Last weekend I made enchiladas for the first time and somehow word got out and I had additional dinner guests, so one check for cooking for others. I also made emily a few other meals while she was here, so I'll count those in case I go through a cooking drought. I really need to take meike's advice and take a picture of what I make, which would mean I need to fix my camera. Add that to the list...

I've also read a few books and I quite enjoy my task of listening to new music on my ipod, i was def in a rut of listening to the same playlist everyday. Will try to do a better job of photo-documenting my tasks as I complete them.

I found this quote and i quite like it:

Symptoms of Inner Peace

A tendency to think and act spontaneously rather than on fears based on past experiences
An unmistakable ability to enjoy each moment
A loss of interest in judging other people
A loss of interest in interpreting the actions of others
A loss of interest in conflict
A loss of the ability to worry
Frequent, overwhelming episodes of appreciation
Contented feelings of connectedness with others and nature
Frequent attacks of smiling
An increased susceptibility to the love extended by others as well as the uncontrollable urge to extend it
-the Peace Pilgrim
